Music of the Road

November & December 449
So in keeping with last week’s theme of road trips and since this is Memorial Day weekend; the favorite list this week is some of my favorite road trip songs!
I hope everyone has something planned for the three day weekend even if it is staying home and getting stuff done. That is what is on my docket for the weekend. I get to organize all the food in the house. That might sound like an easy task or at least a funny task but we do have food storage and things have been shoved into the pantry for months now and I can’t find anything I need . . . hence the big clean out of 2015.
Enjoy the list and have a wonderful weekend!!
1. I love songs that I can groove to while driving in the car. This is the kind of song that makes me want to give the peace sign to every car as I drive by (because we all know that I will be passing and not the other way around). Thank you Wilson Pickett.
2. Last week when I drove down to Cedar City for the afternoon, all I could do was sing this song in my head over and over.  So just listen to Roy Rogers so we can all move on.
3. I just love funky groovy music while travelling so of course you have to have one from the The Staple Singers.
4. You have to have at least one song that screams, “I need to get the hell outta dodge”. This song from Whitesnake does that for me.
5. You also have to have at least one song that is going to have you dancing in your seat so that all the cars you pass will catch a glimpse of you and leave them wondering what has made you so happy. We should spread happiness right? So here is to the Rolling Stones.
HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!

Two for One

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and that everyone has an even better weekend planned ahead! I will be working in the yard, planning for next week and of course, still hunting for a job. I am ready to get back in the swing of things (mostly because the health insurance things sucks without a job–why does it have to be so expensive?).
I looked at the calendar and realized that we are on the 24th . . . wait, what? I could have sworn we were still stuck on the 17th? Leave it to me to have no real direction right now and to get lost in the maze of life. I am going to need to start filling up my time with projects. Hey Mom? can we start cleaning again but in smaller doses?! 🙂
So I have decided to share with you the music from last week based on all of the concerts I have seen this week and will see by the end of next week. You might want to start with number 4, 5 and then round back to number 1.It depends on how you want to end your music excursion.
5. Orgy
For my next round of places that I have been; I have decided to share with you places that I have been going in my dreams lately. I obviously have a theme here. 🙂

Alternatives in Music

IMG_4584
I am going to make it by the “hair of my chinny-chin-chin” and hopefully have a few minutes to spare before crossing over into Saturday. My first week being back home for real and it is good but I am still looking for a new job. Wish me luck this week!
We have made it to the last Friday of the month and it is all about the music tonight. In honor of hanging out in the Pacific Northwest for the past two weeks; this post is a tribute to my favorite alternative bands. Enjoy!
1. We have to pay our respects to the band that put alternative on the map . . . Nirvana
2. I grew up in Southern California so of course I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers
3. I am a huge fan of Radiohead
4. You can’t leave out The White Stripes
5. And finally, I really love The Black Keys
I could actually go on for days on all of the bands that I love within this genre but I am staring at the clock and I only have 10 minutes before midnight. I don’t want to cut it too close!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

End of an Era

 November & December 231
It is a great day today but I say that with also some heaviness of heart. For the last week I have waffled between the excitement of something new in my life and the sadness of saying goodbye to my life over these past ten years. It has been a wonderful ride but moving forward is going to be a wonderful and welcomed change. I am not exactly sure what I am going to do with myself on Monday morning next week . . .
Oh, wait a minute . . . I could start out with sleeping in until it is light outside.
I could make breakfast and enjoy it at a table instead of a desk.
I could exercise when it is light outside.
I could . . . I am realizing that the possibilities are endless here.
Since the possibilities are endless, I think that first order of business on Monday morning will be nailing down a job in Ireland. For the last two months I have been listening to Pandora to “while away my hours” and mostly Irish pub rock. So today’s music post is going to be all of the fun songs that I have been listening to while finishing up with my job.
ENJOY!! 🙂

1.      I heard this song and thought it was so funny since it has been happening a lot to me over the last little bit.
2.      My coworkers decided that the reason I listen to Irish music is because it helps me work faster. I don’t know but it is fun none the less.
3.      Okay not everything I have been listening to has been Irish music and I really love this particular song right now.
4.      While I have been in Texas I did get the opportunity to go to a concert and I saw Reba McIntyre. I don’t know country music at all and I only recognized 1 song that she sang that night but it was fun to be in the room with good energy so here is the song that I recognized . . . oh wait . . . it is a cover that she did
5.      And my last song isn’t really about leaving a job but I feel like this really is the 1st day of my life.
