What’s Playing Now

I have to admit something . . . I don’t like summer for only one reason. I am sure some of you might think it is because of the temperatures but no. I hate the fact that my commute in the evenings has increased exponentially due to vacationers. It feels like a major accomplishment every night that I finally make it home for the evening. So with all of that extra time in my car, I have lots of extra time to listen to music. I also can’t listen to anything that doesn’t have a significant beat. (Girl has to stay awake somehow!)

So here are the songs that as of late are helping me stay alert while I pursue the course of getting home. (FYI: In the morning my commute time is about 30 minutes. In the evenings, it is anywhere from 1-3 hours.) See what I am talking about!

  1. Just Like Fire by Pink
  2. Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake
  3. Something to Believe In by Young the Giant
  4. Mess Around by Cage the Elephant
  5. Brand New by Ben Rector

Where Haven’t I Been

It is summer and I have had a friend staying with me for almost two months. That means we had to squeeze in as many road trips as possible. We managed to make it to Coeur D’Alene Idaho, Spokane Washington, Seattle Washington, Port Angeles Washington, Victoria British Columbia, Nanaimo British Columbia, and the Northern & Central Coasts of Oregon. It has been a lot of fun exploring old haunts and finding new places. Here are my favorite pictures I have taken along the way. Enjoy!

It’s A Girl

How lucky am I to be an aunt again?! My sister just had her first baby and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her. So to honor the newest addition to the extended family, here are the items I think the baby would be thrilled to have.

  1. Princess Coach Iron Crib from Posh Tots
  2. Burberry Trench Coat Dress from Harrods of London
  3. Red Beard’s Revenge Pirate Ship Playhouse from Posh Tots
  4. Washable & Squashable Travel High Chair from Tot Seat
  5. The Baby Bean Bag from BayB Brand

I have to admit; I would really like some of these even though some are a bit over the top. Enjoy the new baby!

Make it Cold and Creamy

Just in case anyone is wondering . . . I love ice cream. I love that it can be extremely simple or complex. Take for instance the difference between country vanilla and Tahitian vanilla. Then you can add anything to it. You can purchase rocky road or top your chocolate ice cream. You can put it on a cone or in a dish. You can mix it up and have a shake or malt. Sky is the limit! So here are a few fun thoughts I had about ice cream while I was eating my favorite: Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter. Yum!

  1. Okay, first thing first. Where did it come from and who do I have to thank? Ice Cream History from Wikipedia.
  2. What are the top 50 ice cream flavors? Thanks Ranker for your ever-changing list and to ActiveBeat for you list!
  3. Where can I eat ice cream in Portland? Thanks RedTri for your list that I will be exploring as the summer continues on!
  4. What kind should I make at home next? This Sea Salt & Honey No-Churn Ice Cream looks fantastic from Kitchen Treaty!
  5. What should I serve it in?Thanks for the bowls Williams-Sonoma!
