I am one of the lucky few. The person lucky enough to have a great relationship with cities that I have never lived in but been to, often. Often enough, that it has a familiar feeling of home. That is how I felt on my last trip to Chicago. When I need a “city fix” that is the place I like to be. For those of you who have never been . . . go. Go and enjoy a Midwest feeling wrapped in a city package.
My sister was the lucky one that got to live in the city for a number of years (and I think she secretly wants to go back). I kind of wish she would since where she used to live in the city was as ideal as you could get. That would save me a LOT of money when visiting.
In the meantime, here are a couple of my favorite places.
